I'm having a reunion with my viola at the moment, and really liking it. After the first day or so wondering how something this big can be manageable it all seems ok, just the occasional hiccup when I don't know what note/string/finger to play and my C clef head has a moment. The violin is suddenly tiny and squeaky! (Although I love it really )
I could do with ideas for some repertoire I can look at; something suitable for a more or less beginner violist but fairly experienced violinist. Are there any good violin/viola duets people can recommend? Or even for 2 violas?

I love the Pleyel duets for two violas. I also have a book of Stamitz duets that are quite progressive. Also the Pleyel 'Grand Duos' which are for violin and viola... the viola part is tougher than the other Pleyel though.

I can't recommend Fuller Music enough for their selection of Viola music. They have it helpfully in menus too and they despatch the same day by first class post.

Oh... I also recommend the Telemann Concerto for Viola and Strings in G - very rewarding to play and not hard.

Yes, Pleyel is good and there are some duets available for violin and viola - don't know if they're the same as the 2 viola ones.

For violin and viola, the Mozart duets, K423 and 424, are AMAZING! You can buy arrangements of the Bach 2-part inventions as well. Also, the Handel-Halvorsen Passacaglia is incredible, but it is pretty virtuosic!
