Thanks to this excellent forum, I was able to track down a much missed LP from my childhood: "My Very Own ABC Record" which was released on the Music For Pleasure label in 1972.
The 26 short and extremely memorable songs were written by a chap called Ernest Burden, and were sung by him, with a Rosemary Burden and a children's chorus on a few tracks.
For no real reason other than sheer curiosity, I would love to know more about the Burdens. What else did they write and perform? Are they still around? Were they husband and wife, brother and sister, father and daughter, or neither?
All I've managed to find out so far is that EB was involved with a "Noddy" LP in the early 1980s and that he was still very much alive (although apparently retired) in 2003 when the Kingston Chamber Orchestra performed his "Gandalf the Wizard".
Anyone got anything to add?
Many thanks,
Nick.
