Hello,

I have my first lesson coming up but still no violin. I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good online shop? I am looking at a Stentor violin.

Thanks,

I can highly recommend Ackerman Music - http://www.ackermanmusic.co.uk/violin/ - fantastic service, I have used them for a long time for various items including instruments. They are usually very competitive with their pricing, and will price match if you find it cheaper elsewhere. Happy shopping!

If you dare...try ebay. Always seems to be a fair number of Stentors of various qualities . Over the years I have bought about 5 or six as my kids have grown and they have been fine...and of course when you're finished you can put them back and recoup approx what you paid. I still have mine as the kids are oddly attached to them

- I would be more careful buying violins other than Stentors as I have bought a couple of cheap ones of unknown parentage that have been of dubious quality

You could try djm music and Omegamusic? Omega music sends them out set up PROPERLY - not the usual shove-a-bridge-on-I'm-done that you sometimes get for internet violins.

Sorry for hijacking your thread, but I don't want to start another one - anyone heard of Tonareli violins and are they good?

I got my first violin (stentor) many years ago at www.normans.co.uk
It was good service and i've found them to be the cheapest

I got my stentor II viola from omega music. It came quickly and I've been really happy with it. It was definitely worth paying a few extra pounds for the II as well.
