Whilst I'm staying in London I've been invited to Sidcup (I think) orchestra, just for a rehearsal next week, and was wondering if I should be looking out for any forumites whilst I'm there??? tongue.gif

Ah, Sidcup. Look out for the new golden 'bling' building laugh.gif

I've never played with Sidcup Symphony Orchestra, but have many happy memories of playing in the youth groups at the local music centre when I was growing up. Have a good time! biggrin.gif

Hope you enjoy playing with them - lovely orchestra. My Dad played with them many years ago - I have many happy memories of watching him play (timpani) and looking forward to the end of the concert so I could have a go! (I was only about 5 at the time!)

Thanks, I can't wait!! It's another opportunity for me to play in an orchestra, and I wasn't about to say no!! Even if it is just for a rehearsal...

They are only about 5 mins up the road from me - unfortunately I'm not good enough to get in sad.gif

I played with them for a few months about 6 years ago - just before we left London. It was my first orchestral concert on viola in 'modern times'. They seemed to be a very friendly bunch...

I believe since then they've had a lot of changes in personnel : not sure of the effect of that as I haven't heard them recently.

Hope you had fun, Sunrise! smile.gif
