I'm about to take my Grade 7 exam and still have not decided whwther to add una corda pedalling in Granados' Viniendo de la Fuente.
My teacher suggests using the 'una corda' pedal to soften the effect and reduce sonority in some passages and at the end, where the effect seems to fit the indication 'perdendosi'. But if this is the criterion to bo by, then una corda would be wrong in the middle.
I welcome any advice on how to go about pedalling the piece apart from what is suggested in the score (right pedal throughout with a regular pattern).

Sorry that nobody has replied to your thread. I have a pupil who will be playing this beautiful example of the cheerful atmosphere of Spanish sunny afternoons but I have not yet come to an opinion regarding the pedalling.

Remember, that whatever pedalling suits your piano or your teacher's piano the result will be different on the exam piano. I would go with your instinct - a few passages with 'una corda' will certainly not cause you to loose marks.

I love this piece but I am also fond of the Turina too.

I like the piece a lot but I use a digital piano most of the time and the 'una corda' pedal makes precious little difference so I can't really help. Sorry.
