I've finally got my exam date! March 5th. It's at 9:47 which I'm a bit worried about, I don't know if I can play at that time

Does anyone have any advice for playing early in the morning? e.g. If I should get up and practice, or what?

Appreciate any help you can give! (p.s. I'm doing Grade 3 Clarinet, but any tips would be heplful!)

Over the next couple of weeks, do some clarinet practice first thing in the morning. I know this might be a problem with school, but there are always weekends.

It is possible to play - at one point, I had lessons at 9.00 on a Monday morning (ouch!).

Best advice I can give with an exam that early is to get a good night's sleep before, and make sure you have a decent breakfast (even if you don't feel like it!). Don't practice right before the exam either. Just get the instrument out when you get there. Good luck!

I have had a lesson at 8.15am before! Get up earlier on the day of the exam, so your body wakes up before it. Good luck! Also, over the next 2 weeks focus on bits that might go wrong under pressure.

my piano lessons are always at 8.45 ish. thats my exuse for playing badly- its too early in the mornin!

Yeh I hope I do well, it's my first exam and I'm practicing like mad lol.

That's a good idea to get up early and practice over the next couple of weeks...It's a shame for my family though hehe A more natural alarm clock than they are used to...

Last year I had music lessons at 8.45 on a Tuesday morning. It soon woke me up and I quite enjoyed having a nice start to the day.

I live in Scotland, and I don't think we have guildhall up here.

Guildhall is an exam board, like ABRSM

It's also a conservatoire in London!

I got my exam date for my piano grade 8 through also, mine is on March the 22nd at 3;20pm so it's no where near as early as yours. I hope you do do well.
