My OH used to have classical guitar lessons at school in the 90s.
He played a piece for his grade one (but never took the exam) and I'm trying to find the sheet music and I'm wondering if anyone has a copy of the book it was in?

Information:
- It was grade one
- It had a green cover
- It was possibly LCM but we can't be sure
- It was when he was at secondary school (1992 - 98 but more the earlier years)

He can remember the first part and I've written it down but obviously I have no idea about the composer etc.

You're probably thinking, why's this important?
Well, he doesn't want to 'learn' music but he has an interest and he really wants to play this piece.
(He says he can't read music etc but I gave him an LCM Preliminary Theory practice paper and he got a merit.....)

If anyone could help, I'd be grateful. (I know it's a long shot!)

Have you tried searching on Musicroom, you can search by genre and instrument and also by instrument and publisher etc, the pieces are often listed and in some you can actually "look inside" so may even be able to see the tune.
I don't know anything about guitar books but the Tune A day books for Violin and other instruments are green and think they have been for a while :-)

I never thought of looking at non-exam books (like Tune a Day - I've looked at others but not the usual suspects... Silly me!) thank you!

After showing him a few, he thinks it looked like a Theory paper....
I think what he means it that it had writing on the front like an exam paper - does anyone remember this sort of thing? (Even for another instrument, just to check he's not misremembering)

I know what he did for 'Preliminary Grade' as it's in his book (with all of the letter names written in... Even I took to reading the letters rather than the notes so no wonder he's not confident in reading music!)

This is how I found the last exam I took at school. Sludge green, with scary faces on the front = Trinity grade 4 treble recorder, 1990. I even ended up buying a copy and working out which my three pieces were

More likely it was Trinity because they do so many more exams than LCM.

Can you spell out the notes in the first few bars?

(This is just my interpretation of what he plays but I think it's more or less correct)
