That's what I was thinking.
It's partial information about part of the syllabus the whole of which can easily be found if we want to know.

But it's always nice to actually pick up and flick through the copy in the shop...

Sorry - what does that smiley mean?
Or, to be more accurate, what are you trying to convey by it?

I don't see why people feel the need to be so rude. I don't think you would be rolling your eyes at people in real life, so why do it on a forum?

Well actually it isn't the eye-rolling smiley - that's this one: rolleyes.gif

It's the "unsure" smiley (think of it as the equivalent of a frown when you're puzzled about something - or, at least, that's how I think of it), because I was unsure (as were several other people) of the point of posting an incomplete list of the Grade 2 piano syllabus which we can easily find online, and then the second time because I was unsure why that posting was justified by the fact that it's nice to flick through a copy in the shops.

However I have just this minute noticed that the title refers to the new syllabus being "in shops" which presumably explains Dulcet's comment. So, sorry for being slow / unobservant, but I wasn't being rude - unless it's rude to express confusion about something. unsure.gif

Sorry, with my eyesight both smilies look the same sad.gif

I was wondering if I could do 2 pieces from the new syllabus and 1 piece from the old syllabus, like Allegro from the A list and Bear dance from the B list and do Cat being bold at first from the C list on the old Syllabus?

I'm pretty sure you can not pick from different years' lists.

Syllabus Overlaps

From link above:

"In the first year of any new Practical syllabus, candidates may, for a limited period only, choose to perform pieces set in the lists of the preceding syllabus, but they may not combine pieces from the preceding and new syllabus (except in the case of items that appear in both)."

So no, sorry, you can't!

You must also use the scale requirements from the year in which the exam is taken, regardless of whether you are carrying over pieces from the previous syllabus. I'll bet that one has caught people out before!

The one exception to this is in TG and not ABRSM, where, although the exercises and scales are all part and parcel of the technical mark, the previous year's exercises may be carried over.
