Can anyone help me? I have a list of the contents of the above syllabus. It belongs to a pupil - so the contents is all I have. It lists a Mendelssohn Song Without Words. Does anyone have a copy of this to hand and can tell me which Song without Words it is?

Yes, hold on, I have one.
It does, but gives no further information. I'll see if I have a copy of the book.
Sorry. Drawn a blank. I have the books for grades 7 and 8 from that syllabus, but not 6.
sorry to have raised your hopes! Hope someone else can help.

Hi Morceau.
According to the Royal Northern College of Music's Library catalogue (catalogue.rncm.ac.uk) it is a Song Without Words in F Major - which having a quick look at the Thematic Index at the front of the ABRSM SWW collection appears to round it down to either Op.53, No.4 (Adagio) or Op.85 No.1 (Andante Espressivo).
Hope this helps

Ta-dah! Have found the book, and the Song without Words. It is in F major, and is marked Andante. It begins with some F major arpeggios.
Hope that's helpful. There are no other useful indications of which number it is.

Oh, thank you so much for your help, everyone. That's brilliant. I can't believe that there is no Opus number or anything indicated on the piece, when there are so many Songs without Words. Extraordinary.
