Finally managed to get a Yamaha C3M (2012 model) for daughter.

We had tough time in finding a preowned or refurbished upright / Grand within our budget. Also the complexity of delivery to first floor put me off from buying an Acoustic. Once I bought a Yamaha U3 upright, but piano movers failed to get it past ground floor due to tight stairs.

So I've decided to buy a new piano from a dealer who guarantee secure and safe delivery to first floor. This morning we have taken the delivery of new Yamaha C3M.

I've the delivery documented fully and uploaded in case anyone like to see. This could be helpful (at least some tips) for someone who wants to get a Grand to first floor via balcony

Wow blink.gif That's a mind-boggling experience! Mind you,I think it was common to remove sash windows in Georgian houses and use a block and tackle to get pianos etc in as the main lounge in a Georgian town house would be on the first floor.

Have fun.

I've seen a piano being hoisted on the end of a crane through a fifth floor window. I think I remember the piano mover guys saying that all of them were trained in removing and replacing sash windows because they had to do it so often.

I really enjoyed watching your piano being delivered! I hope your daughter has as much fun playing it. smile.gif

Brilliant. I loved watching that, and so pleased that you have what you wanted. I can't imagine how frustrated you must have felt when the U3 wouldn't go round the corner.

Thanks.

I've got that U3 for a bargain price, bit unlucky there! But I hope this will drive up the motivation and dedication of daughter.
