I have my Grade 7 Guildhall (flute) exam on the 4th March.
I am trying to improve my aural, but am finding it hard because the Guildhall CD of aural tests don't have the answers (obviously, it can't hear your voice, but when the questions are about naming triads, cadences etc, you'd think they'd have them), I am finding it hard to see how well I am doing.

So, what are your suggestions for good aural books? Because I am doing it with the Guildhall board, I can't use the AB CDs and some other ones I have found are designed to get people through the AB tests.

I really need to improve in this area, so need some help as soon as possible.

Thankyou.

I know this was mentioned on another thread, but I have been using www. musictheory.net, to help my aural perception. It has theory tests, and aurals like identifying intervals, scales (all modes), and chords.

I am not familiar with the Guildhall exams, but if sight singing is involved, do try the Kodaly system (maybe Cyrilla could help hear). It builds your understanding of notes in relation to degrees of the scale of the key you are in.
