lol but you're doing 2 in march aren't you? (sorry if i got my wires crossed here) wouldnt it be better to spend a few months on repetoire and technique, and then look at the 3 pieces when you're really thinking about sitting the exam?
saxlover
and i think he has only just 1 but i could be mistaken! he's crazy like me!
oddy
lol, it would drive me nuts, endlessly focusing on exams and grades. i've gotten good at throwin me hands in the air and sayin 'oh dont bother askin me, im hopeless' instead- until i get less hopeless that is laugh.gif

good luck to you and plinkplonkman tho, wish i had half your drive rolleyes.gif

Hi All biggrin.gif
I am grade one, yes...two exams in March, yes...one theory, one practical...I originally learnt the old syllabus for grade 2 but listened to the cd first...I felt this was like cheating so learnt the new syllabus pieces...didn't listen to them until almost ready for the exams....
I agree with concentrating on technique to develop being a pianist...that's why for my pieces in grade 3 I have chosen more challenging pieces to try styles I have not yet had a go at...
I'm not in a rush to pass exams ......I would rather develop my ability and do myself justice when I take the exams...
Exams and following the set structure of learning each grade is my only measure of how I am doing technically....
Grade three looks a lot harder than grade two tho'..
Best Regards Mike biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

yeh but as you sed nat, its not wise to skip piano grades........
i_love_moi
I think those three pieces were the ones I chose, before I skipped grade 3 onto grade 4...

I loved the sound of Passepied, but I found it quite hard to play...
