hey for anyone who has done grade 2 piano, what are the aural tests like because grade 1 was pretty easy and i got 17/18 but i HATED the singing!! i just wondered what its like in grade 2?

grade 2 isnt too bad. I hate singing in front of people aswell but Just think after the exam you probably wont see the examiner again. Grade 2 isnt really tricky,the examiners only get hard on you at about grade 5. The exam isn't very long either. If you foun G1 OK then this should be no prob.

piano lady-you have to sing back some notes the examiner plays

yeah i always feel like a right prat singing in front of the examiner,
so i suppose that doing a singing exam is probably not that good an idea now i think about it........ (i am a glutton for punishment)

the examiners always loook at me strange when i sing, they're probably thinking, what on earth is that!!

My friend did a flute exam and the examiner asked her whether she sang in a choir, so she must have made a good impression!

Same here!! your not the only one. My comment for my grade 4 aruals was practice singing to improve mark.

at least you can do the other part of the aural tests! i cant even do them!

You'll get better. teh only bit I can do is describe the music!!!

I passed arual at grade 3(my first exam) quite well (15/18) but at grade 4 I failed (11/18). So, you should be ok.

i failed grade 5 aurals 11/18, i have no hope for the higher ones!

Lol i can't sing to save my life.. am thinking of joining the choir so my voice gets betters especially all my sore throat i had within my last exam till now-ish ( although i ain't taking it yet!!!)

I hate the singing in the aural tests. I remember my grade 4 clarinet exam, especially the pitching of the notes... The examiner had to putch it lower for me, as I kept squeaking, lol...
