I'm planning to change the current bow i have. Would anybody recommend any specialist shop around Manchester area ?

I also heard that some shops do send you bows to try them first. Is this really the case? Is this possible when ordering online, instead??

Thanks all....

I got my violin from Paul Ayres in Didsbury. They were very helpful and let me borrow several violins over a period of about a month all told while I decided. I'm sure they would be really helpful with a new bow too.

Paul Ayres are fine. David Vernon (Chester Road salford) is likely to have good selection too. Many online shops will send you a selection. We routinely send out five in a tube at a time for a start. A lot depends on your budget: the more you want to spend, the greater your need to go into a "posh shop"

I to have just bought a Paesold bow from Paul Ayres.

I borrowed 2 bows to try out for the week before I decided which to buy.

Definatley give him a try. He does have a website
