Yeah I have... I thought he was very good.. he was very shy though. I met him the day before too and he was extremely shy then too.. I guess it might be the language barrier.

I have a lot of his cds and he has been an inspiration to my piano playing.

What do you think of him?

I think he's brilliant. He is coming to our small neck of the woods next month, and my family are going but I cant coz I have to work. mad.gif

He is an inspiration to me too. I wish I could go.

Well I would disagree! Just remember that people have their own opinions smile.gif Clayderman is a great pianist wish there were more pianists like him. rolleyes.gif

I know you were smile.gif I must say the only piece I've played of Einauldis is Le Onde whereas Clayderman's I've done loads of for years so I'm a little influenced! smile.gif

I like both although I have known of Clayderman longer so would know more pieces. Would like to see both live though.

Clayderman was good in concert.. he was quite comical although he was shy. Trying to make little jokes here and there.. it was quite amusing really. The woman next to me was lucky, she got a signed sheet of music he was playing that night, Ballade Pour Adeline I think. Can't believe she was sitting right next to me.. I was so close. Still it was nice to be on the front rwo .. up close and enjoying the concert to the full.

Not really sure to be honest. I think he's quitened down now.. he's a little older. Last time I saw him was like 5 years ago

But I'll never forget it

isnt that always the way? My music tastes have really opened up dramatically within the last 3 or 4 years, (since leaving school) and now a lot of the greats have died, and even more will stop playing because of age. I think I was born at the wrong time. dry.gif

I see your point. Cheer up smile.gif there's enough pianists to go round yet.

Do you play a lot of Clayderman pieces? What's your favourite? I love A Comme A More.

I dont play many myself, although I would like to start. (be going down to the music shop soon then...) My brother does a lovely rendition of Ballade Pour Adeline.

Yeah.. the Richard Clayderman Anthology is quite good , got lots of interesting pieces in it. If you have his cds it helps to listen to them to get the jist of it.

I have a couple of albums of him playing popular songs, but not a lot of his original work. I never really played much else except exam work (much to my disappointment now that I was never forced to play anything else).

You should go for it.. get some of his books.. they are very exciting. And he has a nice style which is nice to follow too.

Good luck with it all smile.gif

Thanks. I will definitely give it a go. biggrin.gif
