I have a pupil for grade 2 singing and she is my first student to take an exam as i normally do pop - we are doing "as long as he needs me" from Oliver and the piano accompaniment doubles the melody which makes her rely on me for the tune - is it against exam rules to double the melody ? It certainly used to be the case in GCSE music. If so, am i able to amend the piano part or does that breach exam rules ?

Also, can anyone recommend cheap sources of exam music ? Or sites i could download exam songs from ?

Thanks
Trisha
I should think it would be alright as long as you are using the "official"/ non-simplified music. It's only classed as "doubling" if you have a "reduced" part that just plays the melody in the right hand - or at least that's what i've been told. biggrin.gif
