Hiya,
Gae's been telling me I should write a violin piece having done several for flute, and I ended up writing a little tune just now, more of the beginning of a piece than a whole piece, but anyway... enjoy... hehe. And expect more. I'm thinking it will have a fairly simple delicate piano part, lilting dancy... or may become a trio... not sure yet.

anyway...

Just printed this off and played it. Its a lovely tune, very songlike.

How about using this as the theme and then writing a load of variations (a la Paginini caprice 24!!), then we could all perform a variation at the forum concert!!!

Wouldn't it be interesting if everyone on here wrote a variation on Sarah's theme themselves - though it might make a slightly disjointed concert!

Hehe... that sounds fun. Myself, I've just been writing a viola part to go with it (taking a long time as I don't have a viola to try it out on - mighty frustrating!) and it may even gain a cello part in time, not sure yet... and I'm intending to continue it, quite possibly in the form of variations... but anyone who wants to write their own variation, please feel free, and I'm glad you like it biggrin.gif

I've just composed a piece for Violin/Piano today called "Caribbean Holiday".
If anyone knows "Pepperone Pizza" from the Trinity Grade 1 Exam, its very similar in style.
Anyone who wants to try it out feel free to.

I'm impressed Gae! How long did that take you?

Thanks Joy. It took a couple of hours to put together this morning. I woke up feeling inspired to do a piece for violin and piano. Something I could have a go at myself with my limited ability! smile.gif
