Hey Everyone.
Does anyone have any reccomendations for grade 4 pieces for clarinet? I don't mind if it's challenging or easy etc. as long as it's a good piece!
Cheers, Hulk

Thanks for the suggestions, just downloaded Voi che Sapete, it is really nice. I'll have a look at study 39, I already have that book.
Thanks

Good heavens, is Voi che sapete still on the Grade 4 syllabus? I did it for my Grade 4 twenty years ago (here, have this Werther's original, you young person!). Beg your parents to take you to see the whole of Le Nozze di Figaro - it's all good stuff!
Go for Gershwin in list B, but best of all, speak to your teacher. He or she will have a good idea about what suits you best.

Yes, speaking to my teacher would be a good idea
I've already begun playing Aprés un Reve, is a really nice piece, quite sad, but still good.

Christopher Norton's shoehorn blues and Inter-city stomp are great fun, as well as Tumbledown Blues by James Rae. They are all quite jazzy though so I would choose either a list B jazz piece OR a list C jazz piece. In exams, I tend to do one classical, one jazz and one other of my choice depending on what the pieces on the list are like. But have a play through most of them, it's all experience and it helps you to decide what you like.

'you must do Mozart's Voi che Sapete- its so beautiful!'
I agree - Voi che Sapete all the way! It's absolutely gorgeous
I'm also playing Coquette from 'Summer Sketches' - another lovely one! I found there's loads to choose from, and they're not to difficult, either!
Either way, I'm sure you'll find some you really will enjoy playing.

Eh not yet, I missed my lesson last week, but have one tomorrow, so hopefully I'll know soon, and with luck my teacher might have my exam results!

Theres a great version of Voi Che Sapete in The Accademy Collection for Clarinet. Its much harder than the grade 4 peice, about 5-6ish but has loadsa sales and trills in. Great stuff, played it in our concert a few weeks ago.

I'm getting new books:
Easy Gershwin for Clarinet.
Mozart 2 Arias. (Teacher's a big mozart fan

...but who isn't?)
Up front Album for Clarinet.
Scales Book.
So plenty to choose from, but I'm leaning towards Voi che Sapete (or maybe Aprés un Reve) for list A,
A Gershwin piece from list B (I like musicals!)
Study no. 39 from 80 graded studies for clarinet for List C-I know it's fast and difficult (in my eyes at least) but I like it!
