I'm looking for a good intro to learning jazz bass. Anyone got any ideas? There's nothing much in my local music shop. I already play bass guitar and can read music, so I don't need a complete beginners guide. I'm more interested in an intro to jazz chords, progressions, improvisation techniques etc.

There is a series of playalong CDs by Jamie Aebersold that you can use to practise improvising a bass line. You may be beyond needing this sort of practice, or may have other opportunities, but it might interest others.
