Maybe flautists are just naturally more polite. smile.gif

Several of my favourite people (with my wife top of the list) play flute.

Or maybe its because we follow the supportive, caring attitude and atmosphere demonstrated by our most prolific members smile.gif

Then again, we could just be nice people... wink.gif

Or perhaps, its simply cause flutes (and naturally flautists) rule! biggrin.gif

I think we should have a picture of a flute at the top like viva piano, clarinet and violin etc. Who agrees?

I do. Unfair to flautists! biggrin.gif And while we're on the subject, can we have the other things they've got too, please - like history, playing tips, how it works, etc, etc?
tooty_flute
I agree. And I think the flute should be on a blue background! (dunno why but would look good!) I wonder why we dont have that stuff?

Yes, blue and silver looks nice together! Let's ask Ms Morris if we can have a fancy flute forum! smile.gif

I don't know if you guys remember, but when we were campaining for a flute forum, we basically stated, as part of oour case, that we didn't care too much about a whole viva site (like clarinet, piano, violin etc have) if only we could have a forum asap.

And thats what we got. smile.gif Personally I'm not too worried.

Its cool, I agree a whole site would be nice, but not essential, I just thought perhaps it'd better be made clear, that it wasn't anything to do with flute discrimination etc. lol

i do agree that the flute forum is the best because we are very very very very very very very very very very nice musicians as most flautist are except a little lad who sits next to me in my band biggrin.gif

ps. if that little boy goes on here please please will you learn to stop playing as loud as you can and as close as you can to my ear - THANK YOU!!!

I agree that flautists are usually very very very etc. nice people (seeing as I'm one of them tongue.gif ), but I know at least one who is really arrogant at my school! V. annoying, because the flute is such a gentle, nice instrument itself!

I would be happy to be able to access this site by not having to google "flute forum" and then "flute forum is so much nicer"

If I go to viva woodwind I cannot find "flute ... nicer" - very frustrating - coupled with the fact that when I bookmark "flute ..." in firefox it hides my bookmark in the nether regions of its files and I give up looking for "flut .." and go and google again

I posted a few minutes ago but it did not show in the thread - what is the time lag between posting and seeing?

Hello stevebaz and welcome to the Associated Board forums.

I suspect the reason your googling isn't working is because you're looking for something that is no longer here.

This thread is about 4 years old, and not long after people moved on from posting on it, these Forums were reorganised. As part of that reorganisation the individual woodwind sub-forums were merged into the main Viva Woodwind board.

There have been tons of posts about all things flutey in the mean time, have a look and see what you can find. And enjoy your time with us.
