Hey people,

have you guys seen a glass electronic violin??
I really want one....where can i buy such thing does anyone know??

Those are acoustic instruments...could easily put an electronic pickup on them, of course.

A true electric instrument would not be so hard to make - as long as you have the vibrating parts made of the correct materials, the body, which doesn't need to resonate, could be made of hamburger buns if you so desired...(as far as I know ).

I never saw a glass violin or cello before.... (not that I realised it was possible... )

Blimey, my stentor looks cheap and tacky now...!

I expect you could get them custom made, but you'd have to be a lottery jackpot winner to afford their costs!!

I saw a glass piano in a museum in France. That was cool too. But I'd be afraid of dropping a glass violin - at least I couldn't drop the piano!

I'm not even sure if you could! The company (which makes lab glass and coffee flasks etc.) made them as a research and PR project, but they've made no attempt to make any more, I notice!

So does anyone know whether it's possible to buy a glass violin or viola and approx. how much do they cost??

If I can't buy a glass violin,
i'll buy a normal electric one then....
Coz' i've already got 2 violins and a viola, but they're all normal ones(made out of wood). And i just want something special....

they're all transparent colour though
