Hi,
Anyone have any experience with or opinions on the Gliga Gama Professional?
Thanks

I'm a violinist by profession, but I obtained a Gama viola from Liz at Elida Trading.
Personally I love the sound of it and even though it's only 15" it really does have a good viola sound, rather than a violin masquerading as a viola. The response of it is also very good.
I guess it's like any instrument, each one has its own personality and sound, but I know that Liz would give you a full refund if you bought a Gama violin and then decided that you didn't like it.

Thanks for the input. I live in Canada so I would probably order from www.violinslover.com, although I just found a dealer in this country and am waiting on pricing. I am also considering some Chinese instruments, eg. Jay Haide and some Czech (Dvorak by Strunel) and German (Kleir)...anyway opinions on those?

We have sold Klier (Otto Jos: I don't knwo the other Klier) and Strunal as well as Gliga. At the prices we can sell them for, the Gliga beats the other two hands down. We have had a couple of advanced violinists pick the Klier Schonbach, but that is (at our prices) twice the price of a Gama 1. Similarly the higher level Strunals (3320 and 3350) are nice, but the factory set up is poor and again they are twice the price of a Gama 1. Of course your local pricing may be different.
