Well it's over at last. I didn't go that well. i made big mistakes in my left hand chromatic scale and bflat in thirds scale, so I'm very annoyed about that. sad.gif My pieces went ok, not brilliant not horrible, just ok. My sight-reading went sooooooooooooo bad, I think she laughed at me sad.gif I only played like the top part of it, I think she choose the hardest one she could find and my nerves didn't help at all, so 0 marks for that. sad.gif Aurals went better than i thought, i think I sang the tunes all right perhaps one or two notes out but apart from that iot was ok and I know I got the composer right for the last part when she played the piece for me I was like "Haydn?" and then she made this funny scrunched up smiley face for ages then was like "well, well, it just might be" so hope fully i passed this exam. I soooo don't want to fail. I'm slightly depressed about it now so I just have to go through the agonising wait for the results.

You always remember the worst parts of your exam, but I am sure you will have wowed the examiner with some aspect of your playing. Grade 8 is also a really big achievement so well done. Take some time out to relax though, and I hope you get the results you want.

Actually - if you kept one part going and maintained the pulse you 'll get some credit for that.

I'm sure it went better than you think.

Don't worry, if the examiner gives you a hard sight-reading piece, then it means that you have done quite well in your pieces and scales. Your scales is only 2 mistakes, she can't cut a lot of marks, you will maybe get around 16. You should be really worried if she gives an easy sight-reading piece.
I diced my sight-reading in Grade 7, the examiner gave me some waltz with 4 flats and big jumps here and there. She gave me 12 for it tongue.gif. I killed my auruls too but I still passed with 116 cause my scales and pieces backed me up.BTW my examiner failed many people(1st year of examining).
