hey people. I was wondering, do you think that it helps in terms of interpretation (and maybe experience) to be interested in in general. By that i mean, you love your instrument, you listen to a vast range of recordings, live concerts etc. I think of my instrument as VERY important...i cant see myself doing something outside of music ever! I listen to lots of recordings, etc etc.
But do you think that it helps in the dip, lrsm, frsm, and beyond to be almost "in love" with your instrument?

I think it's very difficult to succeed at the diploma level without a geniune love of performing on the instrument. Just like some composer once said: if you cannot move youreslf, you cannot move others ...

Yes! I agree! I think listen some concerts or others performent can have some improve. Improve in listening, know how to idenify good music, good performent, and then improve yourself. That's all I think!
