I'd like to know if someone here has any experience with Fibracell reeds, especially for oboe. How is the sound compared to cane reeds and do they really last that long? Thanks in advance!

I play the oboe but have not been brave enough to try these synthetic reeds.

I've heard that the clarinet equivalent are fairly dire in their tone and don't last as long as claimed, so I can't imagine those for oboe being any better.

If you live within easy reach of London then a trip to Howarth might be an idea as I believe they sell them and you can try a few out before purchasing.
