Ok i started piano in march, and am working my waythrought the grade 4 book, but what i really want to do is jazz piano. I have an audition for the music school for jazz piano which i am allready in for voice and trumpet. Problem is i havent done any scales!
It says on the audition letter, scales and arpegios for ur standard?
should i tell them that i only started and havent learnt the grd 4 scales?
i can play all major keys to one octave! i find it reli hard to play to two octaves and also i dont know what broken chords are and things like that!
please help my audition is on the 20th, i have 18 days to learn all the grd 4 scales? ne suggestion!
please help!

I would just perfect what you can already can do but some other people might disagree. I have never auditioned for anything like what you are doing. Or if you can learn some easier scales to two octaves and learn the G4 scales to one octave

Can you do them hands together? Sep is not hard to go from 1 to 2 octaves, but the hardest bit is to go together...
If you have mastered pieces, scales should seem easier, provided you put the same level of work in. Buy the book and tackle them 1 or 2 at a time.
Also....may be wise to check it's not 'jazz scales' they want...I think they're very different!
