Sorry to be annoying, but I took an exam on march 22nd, (not just any - my grade 8 piano...) and at the moment I am on holiday (in New York!!!). My teacher said he would email me the results, but I have not received anything yet and am checking my email constantly. The wait is killing me, so I was just wondering if other people who took exams around the same time had found out anything yet... i.e. that way i would know if my teacher is just being annoying, or if the results haven't come yet. Please help as I am currentlyunable to enjoy my amazing holiday, as I keep thinking about the result! Thanks x

I took my grade 8 violin on the 24th, I'm panicking too! I try and forget about it but every day the post comes my stomach jumps! They said it should come within 3 weeks, but I don't really get it, if they mark it on the day, which the do, why does it take 3 WHOLE WEEKS (longest of my life by the way-ooh dear that's sad) Anyone know? Everyone must share their results when got!

I took my Grade 8 piano on 22nd March aswell, and I've just got my result back literally few minutes ago. Couldn't believe what I got - 131, the first time ever I got a distinction on any instrument on any grade!
Hopefully everyone else here will do well aswell

i took my exam thursday 2wks ago and my tutor said it may take up to 4 and a half weeks for results to come through also as you are on grade 8 it does genrally take longer to mark as depending on your examiner because they will have to check there marking very closly
Hope this info helps you

That does seem unusually slow. Mine took theirs on March 16 and the results have taken longer than I can ever remember - well over two weeks.
They came while I was on holiday, so not quite sure how many days. Hope yours have arrived too by now.

Hi I took my grade 4 practical exam for piano on 16th march and just found out that I passed with distinction!!!

I got 132/150 so I'm really pleased! Here's what I got for each section:
Piece 1 - 24/30
Piece 2 - 26/30
Piece 3 - 27/30
Scales & Arpeggios - 24/25 (wasn't asked to do broken chords)
Sightreading - 17/21
Aural - 18/18
(Just added that up and it came to 136 so don't know if there was a mistake or something but I haven't actually got the certificate yet as my teacher told me over the phone so will find out when she gives it to me.)
The aural I was soooo shocked by as I don't think I'm a very good singer and the sightreading was quite hard so I thought I wouldn't get a lot for that either but the examiner said that the only thing wrong with it was the rhythm which I knew I hadn't got anyway. Hopefully everyone else who took their exams around that time has got their results back too. If you have then let us know what you got.

(sorry if i've been annoying but i'm just so happy!!)

Sorry it's me again, I just realised that the reason it didn't add up right was because I was counting the scales as 25 marks when they're 21. I didn't realise as my teacher just said I had dropped one mark on them and she always thought scales were 25

congrats! it came to 136, because you put 24/25 for scales when they are only out of 21

Mine came today at last. Didn't realise how tense I'd been until I opened the envelope and did my usual thing of counting the certificates to see if they matched the number of entries. I always do this before I look at the mark sheets!
Results were much as expected apart from the very pleasant surprise I've added to my sig belw.

I took 2 EXAMS and haven't got the results for either yet. I took my G7 flute on the 14th of March and G5 piano the day after! The flute results won't come for a while, as I did that through my music centre and it closes during the holidays, and they have too catalogue the results so I probably won't get them for at least 1 or 2 weeks!!!!!!!!
Piano i'm going to have to wait for as well 'cause I have these lessons privately and my teacher has gone on holiday for 3 weeks!!!!!!
Ahhhhhhhhhhh!
Glad to hear everyone else has done well though

Congratulations! You must be delighted.
My results were much closer than I expected. I had three (piano, all different grades and very different students ).
I had assessed around 110-115 for one, 115 - 120 for another, and 125-130 for the other, and would not have been surprised at an overall range of 25 marks - in fact they were all between 120 and 125. Interesting the way it worked out.

Well Done Lisa!! See I told you the broken chords wouldn't be a problem. Very pleased for you

It's good because either way you added it up you still got a distinction which is really really good so well done for that!! Are you now going on to grade 5?? Good Luck with everything

Yes, still waiting like many of you out there. It's probably all due to the whole country shutting down over Easter, and an early Easter at that. Two of my pupils took exams on the 22nd March (still no results) and my nephew took his Grade 8 trombone way back on 16th March. That was in Wales ...perhaps they're all still on holiday ?

hey im new to the forum!!
i did my gr5 flute a while bak and got my results today it was cool!! i got 117 which i felt was good for me as i hav important gcses to concentrat on aswell. but the only thing botherin me is WOT WAS THE PASS MARK!!!! LOL can anyone tell me i havent got my certificate yet so i dnt really no my break downs.
did anyone else do there grd 5 thery at the chester branch a few weeks ago!!???
i did i haventgot them results yet im scrd im gonna fail my teacher has neva had anyone fail tho!!! FINGERS CROSSED!!
( just say abit about my self i have bin playin th flute for less than 2 years i played for a yr when i was 7 but gave up and took it up again at the age of 14 after movein to a high school with an amazin music dept, i then join the school band and startted to lern the tenor sax because the girl who played in band was leavin and they needed sum1 to play her parts, as there are enough flutes in the world i was glad to accept so now
i hav been playing tenor sax for about a year i also had the opertunity to take up the soprano sax which i jumped at. One of my most prized posessions is my cello i have been playin for a year and will soon be takin my gr 3, i love bein challenged that is why i took up a string instrument.
I am doin gcse music and i am on for an A which im really happy with, i then want to go to my Sixth form college Sir John Deanes to study A level music amongst other things.
My career then may lead me into music but i really dnt hav many plans at the mo!
i also play in the cheshire youth training orchestra i no it sounds really bad and it it really but its the best i can get into on my cello.
If anyone lifes round the Vale Royal District of Cheshire pls chat to me i may no ya!!)

I took grade 8 piano and grade 7 organ just before we broke up for easter 3 weeks ago. I've got the results back now but they were delayed due to one of my school's exam mark sheets was added up wrongly! This meant they ALL had to be sent back to the examiner! Grrrrrrrr.
I managed to get 131 in piano and 133 in organ though, so i was pleased in the end
