Hey cheps,

just wondering whether surname initials got to do to music...
I mean ...most succesful musician had the initial of "B" like Beethoven, Brahms, Bach, Bartok....etc.

Mine's "C" same as Chopin's laugh.gif

well there's like, Schumann,Schubert,Shostavkovich, would say im a big fan of any!

I'm sure there is a great wonderful composer beginningwith 'S' that we just cant think of at the moment!

K, so Kabalevsky, Ketelbey, Kreisler, Kodaly, but embarassingly I've never heard of Kabalevsky, Ketelbey or Kreisler ph34r.gif !

I know Kabalevsky composed piano works and violin concerto.
And Ketelbey is famous mainly by In a Persian Market.

Josquin; it was his given name, but he was before surnames became common. Jenkins: wrote viol fantasias in the middle of the 17th C. Joseph Joachim, Brahms' violin playing friend, also composed. Joubert: 20th C, English (IIRC).

Did anyone else hear the programme om bbc radio 3 a couple of Saturdays ago when the presenter recommended a boxed set of cds which included "a whole hour of Scheidt" ? Wonderful moment. I bet he waited a long time for that opportunity.
