I'm doing the following for Grade 6
A1: Corant
B3: Vals Potecio No5
C1: Feeling Good
Now i'm wondering how fast I should play these pieces. I'm thinking that 'Feeling Good' should be slightly faster than the tape version. Am I right?

Oh...? Oh dear, then I must be doing something wrong, 'cause I timed myself and I got 50 seconds for C1: "Feeling Good".
Am I too fast?

Oh...ok, I guess to compromise I should just squeeze it between 55 secs - 1 min.

Yeah, ias long as you can play it a decent speed, then it should be perfectly fine!

I would be a bit wary of working it out by time taken to play.
Usually the speeds marked on the music are editorial and so long as you are not wildly different then you go with what you(and you teacher?) feel is good. (Though it is possible to have a quite different idea on speed and score well if you are musically convincing with it)
Remember also that the CD recordings are just one person's interpretation and by grade 6 you really should not be trying to copy them but should be using some of you own ideas in the music you play.

Yes, the "musically convincing" is what matters most, isn't it (within reason of course)? For my grade 4, I think I'm playing one piece around the recommended metronome mark, one more slowly and the other slightly more quickly. I've only listened to the CD once since using it to choose the pieces as I don't want mine to sound like poor imitations - better to perform them in a way that suits my own playing ability.
