I've pleased to say that I've done my final adjustments to the text, and I now have the concert information pages (3 pages) and the application form ready to send as an attachment to anyone from the Forums who requests them. I sent them to Amber as a 'dummy run' a few days ago (although I've made a few alterations to the application form since then), so I know that it should all work. smile.gif

I know the concert isn't for ages, but the summer term always seems to go very quickly, and I expect that most of you would like to get things sorted out before the summer holidays.

Please click on the Yahoo button to contact me - and do please give me your user-name too, so that I can tally up the requests with those forum members who have expressed an interest on the other thread - one or two there weren't regular posters, and might miss out if they don't see this, so I may need to contact them if they don't contact me!

Cheers,
Jo biggrin.gif

Erm, I haven't got a Yahoo ID, but could you send the information to Amber, as she has my email address. I still don't know whether I could come though sad.gif
carys
I've contacted you through Yahoo, Jo - hope it worked.

I was under the impression that anyone could use that button - but yes, if it's OK with Amber she can forward the info to you. Wait a few minutes though - let me forward her the revised application form first!!

I've completely missed the topic ! blink.gif

Fiona
jo.clarinet
Oddball - have sent yours just now!
Carys - yours hasn't come through yet - hopefully will do soon!
Fiona - look back on page 2 or 3 of this forum - there's a huge long thread about it. The title is Forum Users' Concert wink.gif

Grr, it's so far away!! dry.gif

I'm only prepared to arrange concerts in my local area, and I think you'll find that most of the people on the Forums would say the same - it's not nearly so easy arranging events where you can't visit and check on the venue and facilities - unless you're a professional concert-arranger and have a wide range of contacts. Sorry! Haven't you got any relatives/friends down south who you could stay with over the weekend, so that you could get to us more easily?

carys - I haven't received your message yet, so could you send another one? It's strange, because Oddball's came through straight away. Did you receive the info I sent back to you, Oddball?
nicki_flute
Ok, I'll ask Amber whether she can send me the information.

Recorderzrule - There needs to be one in the middle of the country! biggrin.gif

Okay, I've tried it again... (I think I must have done something wrong last night).
Oddball
Yes, Jo, I did.

Thanks!
Deborah
Jo, I don't have Yahoo. If you click on the www button underneath this post it'll take you to my website. There's an e-mail address on there, so can you send it to me electronically that way?

Looking forward to the concert, and have persuaded Husband to come too (if that's OK) rather than do train things that day.

Now, what shall I play?

Carys - it still hasn't come through! I don't know why sad.gif - I'm sure you must be doing the same as the others, and I've had lots of enquiries today.

If you have Amber's email, perhaps you could ask her if she'd mind forwarding the details, or if you have Katyjay's new email (not the one we used around the February concert-time) you could ask her. Or whose email addresses do you have, out of those who have expressed interest in the concert and might have the details already?
katyjay
Carys

My new e-mail is with "btinternet" instead of "aol", but the same as the old one in all other respects. If you want to try sending something to me to send to Jo please feel free to do so.

Cheers

Jo, hopefully you've got a mail from me.
jo.clarinet
I'm sure you'll all be pleased to know that carys has now managed to get through to me, and I've just sent her all the info. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif

PS Yes, Fen. Info is on its way!

The IM messages I sent didn't seem to work Isobel - in the end I emailed Jo using her email address that shows up when you go into Yahoo.
jonscott14
could someone please send me an aplication form please
thanks
jo.clarinet
jonscott14 - I've sent you the info. Please email me back to confirm that it arrived OK.
You'd better edit your last post now and remove your email address from it, by the way!

tooty_flute - I'm still waiting to hear from you...... unsure.gif

Some where like Birmingham even! ah well, i'm going to try and do concerts locally and find out about any charity concerts around too.
tooty_flute
I'l send an e-mail to the address that pops up with the ahoo box. I'm a bit wary of doing it at the moment because I'm on my mums computer and she would go mad if I oped yahoo (she's very scared of computers) But should be able to do it in the next few days.

Thanx
Andy-piano-flute
Hope someone can come up with some helpful suggestios - I can get a flight from N Ireland arriving at Stansted just after 8am on the Saturday morning. But does anyone know how I might get from stansted to the concert venue. There seems to be some sort of train or bus that would get me into London -not wishing to sound feeble but i find the idea of negotiating trains/underground pretty scary. Don't want to end up lost in London.
Is anyone coming in from stansted direction - i would share motoring costs.
As far as getting back i'm wondering if i can get up to Leicester where my mum lives. Not sure whether i can ask her to come & get me!! Anyone any thoughts?!!
nicki_flute
You can get a train from London to Leicester station, I think it takes about 2 hours.

Andy

On the Stansted bit, there is a regular train into London (about £8 I think)but if my geography is right the venue is not far from Stansted so you might be better bot going into London to come out again. Someone more local may be able to give you better info.

In the Leicester bit, I will driving back up t'North on the M1 so happy to give you a lift to Leicester if you want.

Other than that there is a good train service from St Pancras to Leicester (about every half hour) on Midland Mainline.

Jane
Andy-piano-flute
Thank you Jane I would love to take you up on that offer of a lift up the M1.
I will go ahead & book plane ticket in next couple of days - i think the logistics of this might work out OK!!
Train from stansted seems to stop at Tottenham hale(?) - would that link in to the underground to get to Woodford does anyone know?
Fen
Andy,

Have you considered flying into London City airport? It has frequent connecting buses to the jubilee line and DLR. I don't know that you'll get flights quite as cheaply as through Stanstead, but it's a pretty handy little airport. Also has the advantage of a 20 minute checkin for most flights.

Andy-piano-flute
No I hadn't - i suppose cos i didn't know anything about it, but will look up that option. Difficult from my map getting an idea of distance. How far do you think Stansted is from woodford?
nicki_flute
I have no idea how far but I'll look on multimap for you smile.gif

Edit: Just looked it up for you here

Andy-piano-flute
Thanks Nicki - that's a useful link
tooty_flute
Where abouts is this concert taking place!? I think I've missed some crucial posts. Could someone fil me in?

You're welcome smile.gif

I had the most scary dream last night, in which I arrived at the school to set up on the day, and the caretaker said to me in a casual tone: "By the way, the piano's very out of tune"!!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif Aargh!

I've never had any problems with the piano there before (quite a nice grand), but I've taken the precaution of emailing the school just to confirm that it will have been tuned fairly recently..................... tongue.gif
Andy-piano-flute
Tooty flute - do you want to do a flute trio (+/-) with me, carys, possibly Nicki & anyone else who wants to. I see you're in Essex so you can't use tamsin's excuse of being too far away!
tooty_flute
hehe. Yeh sounds good. I've just posted on the thread in the 'viva flute' section
jo.clarinet
The first few application forms arrived today - yay! biggrin.gif

First past the post are Andy-piano-flute, StuMac and Janexxx. I reckon all three deserve a prize for keenness! *hands out virtual medals*

Message for Fen:

Please will you re-send your address via email? My laptop died completely last night and I can't get at my stored emails. sad.gif Luckily we are a multi-computer family. smile.gif
Fen
ooh - haven't looked on this thread in a while - good job I checked!

No problem, will do.
Deborah
Have you got any of those medals left, jo.clarinet? My form and cheque are ready to go in tomorrow's post, after which I'd better do some practice... I've also included a few alternatives for the ensemble pieces in case the balance looks to be top-heavy (gosh, how flexible!).
jo.clarinet
No medals, Deborah - I'm out of stock at the moment - but do have this delicious chocolate life-size clarinet *hands clarinet*

OK, OK Pinkoi - you can have a chocolate cello *hands cello*

Yours tubbily, laugh.gif laugh.gif
