Ok.

After being absolutely horrified by my performance pieces, I am re thinking my recital pieces. My highest mark is 14.

Yes thats 14.

Out of 25.

I have nothing above that.

I was orignally planning to play Sonata in G major (CPE Bach) movement 1 and Purple Bamboo Melody (trad.) BUT Im not overly confident about the bamboo melody. Ok, not at all confident would be correct. Would it be do-able to change my second piece to Minuet from L'arlisienne suite no 2? I would much rather play the accompanied piece than the non accompanied piece. Butwe have rehersals with our teacher for the accompaniment tomorrow, so I need to decide by then...

Help me please.... sad.gif sad.gif

By the way, recital is 4th may.

I fyou know the piece just as well as the one you would've played, there's no reason why not. The only thing I'd be worried about is if it would panic me a bit if I changed piece, but if you're ok with that, the go ahead!

Good luck! smile.gif

I would change. The Bizet is easy to play with the accompaniment, and it's almost always better to play an accompanied piece than an unaccompanied one.

Go with what you feel happiest playing. There is nothing worse than having to play a piece you are less than confident about when it really matter to you.

Good luck.

Definitely go with the piece you're more comfortable playing. Otherwise you'll just be more nervous when playing the less confident piece. smile.gif

Had rehersals today. I only got the bizet and the bach pieces out of my bag, and we played through them (fairly) ok-ish.... (lots of work to do though...). Then she asked me if I had a study for my grade 6... Me: "Weeeell, yes, but its not very good at the moment..." So she just said we'll play the Bizet, then the CPE Bach, because the examiner stops marking after 7 minutes... So im not doing the un accompanied piece now.. woohoo!

Sounds like the Bizet was the better choice then. Hope all goes well in May. smile.gif

<runs around strangling everyone> After all, you can't panic if you're... erm unconcious.

Then again, you can't play either.

All I can do guys is give you empathy. I know how you feel etc.

So best wishes, good luck, oh, and you could always strangle me to relieve all that pent up stress, after all, it's about time you got revenge...
