Nice signature, Oddball.. well, I think some of the violinists are being extra cautious that their sweat does not touch an inch of their instruments. For some, maybe it acts as a sort of cushion as their chin doesn't fit exactly into the chin rest as they'd like? Just my guess. But I personally do not like it. It just looks too weird in my opinion.

Violin-Ann, dont worry. I've also been playing the piano for around 25 years too and I did my Grade 4 around about 1976! I had a break of about 6 years in my teens and while at College one day, trying out a Piano, I found I could still play from memory "Fur Elise" and "Sleepy Shores" (remember that one). The rest, as they say, is History! I did my Grade 7 in 1991 and am about to finally sit Grade 8 in the next month! Talk about spreading your Grades over the years!

I learned for about 3 years as a teenager, then had a break of 15 or so years, then started again last year (March I think). Taking grade 6 this session at last. I've been waiting to take grade 6 for about 16 years!
