I was just wondering if anyone finds that at a certain time, their piano playing skills seem to improve, perhaps double? For me, it's at 4pm and 10pm that I play piano best, it's quite odd, not sure why it's those times!

Yes, I'd just love to play at night sometimes or even early in the morning. I don't think I'd be too popular though!

I like the calm quietness (and disturbing it) of about 2 or 3am when I finish work. It's nice to wind down. Can't play forte though.

Any time except for first thing in the morning! I hate having to play accompaniments first thing - I'm not usually awake until break-time!!

I find that if I go away for a week and don't play, I seem to be much better when I come back - sometimes I think you can get too much of a good thing.

I love playing for my personal pleasure from around 10pm onwards. Sometimes I play through to 2 or 3am.
I'm not a morning person.

I usually play best around midnight. Fortunately I own a digital piano, so that is not a problem

I can usually play better, after tea about 6 o clock. I can just concentrate more, also very early in the morning.

Well actually, I wouldn't mind playing in the morning, although I have to admit, when I have an 8.30am lesson, I do not play at my best. I cannot play too late though, I am too tired!

weekends around 10:30 for an hour - as long as there's a good cup of coffee onboard, and a biscuit mainlined.
Evenings - 7:30 (as long as I get home from work) - again, and importantly, a cheese and biscuit down the hatch and half a gin and tonic (the first half relaxes, the second tends to impair so I leave it till I'm done playing...)

About 9am on a Saturday. I'm on a musical high at around 7pm as well.

Me too, when I am alone, I will play some romantic songs or songs by Richard Claderman.
When I am angry, I will play all the scales and also the Hanon without stopping...haha!
For practise....4~5p.m is the best time for me. I spend the whole morning in school, and take a nap for afternoon, and then do my homework...so the best time is 4~5p.m. I seldom play the piano at night because I have tuitions almost everyday. I can't play the piano after tuition because the time is too late(For Malaysia, 10p.m. is usually very late!).
Wow, it seems too late for this reply!

A friend of mine has to get up at like quarter to 6 to start her piano practice at 6. She has no other choice, her, her brother, and her sister all have to get in half an hour practice each morning before the bus comes (about 7:30). She wants to only do 5 subjects though this year so she can practice at school and then free up some time for the other two before school, so she is not in such a rush.

I'm a lark too! I can't wait to get up in the morning

! I don't have the chance to practise then, unfortunately - I usually play late afternoon/early evening, after work, so I'm never at my best then - it always surprises me when I play in the morning at weekends to notice how much better my playing is

Depends how much sleep I get, I can be a lark and be bright and perky at like 8am, or wake up at about 1pm and be right as rain

I can practise almost any time, just depending on how tired I feel, even at 3am I could practise

My best practising hours tend to be between 10 and 3, although I can practise other times of the day/evening too. I'm not really an early bird though, so don't tend to practise much before 10, plus the real chocolate dog needs her morning walk before I start!!
