hi
ive just made a new website about my lessons that are available, and i do have my email mob and contact home no. on there too.
i was just wondering do you think its a little dodgy having landline no on there even though it goes in local paper?
also been thinking of doing online tuition somehow, but havent got that far yet!

Hi,
As you say, you have your landline number in your press advertising, so I don't see that online advertising should be any different. One thought though (if it's not too late) would be to invest in a second landline for business only. You can offset the costs against tax, and it's an ideal way to help keep work and personal life separate when working from home. I work from home, and had I not got gazillions of business cards, compliment slips, leaflets and letterheads already printed, I would certainly have a new business-only line installed.
It would be interesting to see your website when it's finished. I'm curious about the idea of online tuition.
Good luck with it all.

I would take your landline number off the internet and just post your mobile and email address. I also suggest you go ex directory if you aren't already.
Alternatively, like Amber suggests, have a new business line installed.

If you have your email address on a website you are basically inviting masses of auto-generated spam. Better to have a "click here" link which can be used to email you, without publishing the actual address.
I have set up a website for a local music/drama/dance festival, and we attract a fair number of dodgy emails, even without showing the actual address.
Up to you about the landline no, personally I wouldn't.

hi thanks for your replies.
i think i will delete home no, and put 'for security reasons landline will be given at later date'
amber or any of you, are you on msn or yahoo messenger?

No, I'm not. But several people on the Board have my email address, and if they're willing to be the go-between, I'm happy that they pass my address on to you.
