Full Version: Shubert's Sonata In A Minor
Forums > ABRSM > Teachers
margrave of brandenburg
Currently practicing this piece, and started to think about what DO the Slurs really mean in this particular piece (the depth and lightness of these chords). Anyone want to share their opinon of how this music evolves and journeys?

Anyone know the backbone of this piece -why Shubert wrote this piece , if there is a story behind it?

thank you laugh.gif

Hi

Schubert composed 3 sonatas (I assume we are talking piano sonatas) in A minor. Do you mean no 2, D 537?

According to Allmusic.com Schubert wrote 21 Piano Sonatas/Sonatinasbut only 3 were published in his life.
There are a few written in A minor according to the list. You can click on anyone for a detail of the work.
