Hello, I'm just wondering what pieces people are doing for their Grade 2 exam. I am doing Arabesque, Kabalevsky Waltz and Get in Step.

Im doing Musette, Barcarolle and Get In Step.

When are you doing your exam Im doing mine in june.

Are you good at sight-reading because Im not, Ill have to practice some more mock sr pieces.

I am not very good at sight-reading either. Remember to not repeat notes more than once! Good luck in your exam.

By the way, Arabesque and the Waltz were additional pieces because the pieces were in a book I have got. Get in Step was in another book I have.

Although I'm not doing Grade 2 myself, I'm teaching someone who's doing Musette, Baracolle and Get In Step.
I really love Get In Step - I remember learning it when I was younger (which isn't that long ago, admittedly - 8 years?)

I like playing Musette and Get In Step but I just can't do bars 15 - 23 on Barcarolle.

What is everyone like on the Aural Tests I just done them in my lesson today I can remember everything accept 'rallentando' and 'accelerando', I always get them mixed up.

Same time as you!

My Aural tests are average. The hardest part I think is the one where you have to guess the time signature. You have to know the speed in which to clap and when to start clapping.

Im good at that but my teacher says that its because I play drums . Its the part where you have to tell the examiner what changes there was between the 1st phrase and the 2nd phrase that I cant do .

can't remember as i did it 25 years ago ( at least ! ) and got distinction for it !)

The easiest way to remember these is that accel is like the accellerator on a car - it makes the car get faster...that's what an accel does to music

I did my grade 2 a year or so ago and I have completely forgot what I did. Sight reading I believe was the worst of my marks (I like it now) while scales...not good
