Hi!
My friend is turning 16 soon, and I'd like to buy her some Music. She is post Grade 8, flautist, and I would like to buy her something which is nice, and preferably under £10. She likes everything but Baroque, but I think she especially likes composers like Mike Mower. Any suggestions?

If she hasn't got it already, Flute Music by French Composers is an essential post-Grade 8 collection. It's published by Schirmer, and is around the £10 mark I believe. It includes the Faure Fantasie, the Enesco Cantabile and Presto and the Chaminade Concertino amongst others.

I have that book, and it's wonderful! definitely that if she hasn't got it.... also, I really like the eldin burton sonatina. 1st movement on the g8 list, but the 3rd movement is harder, and from what I've managed to play of it, it's great fun!

I especiallly like the Schubert Arpeggione Sonata and there is a recording by James Galway - superb,
or how about Ach Stuck by Paul Hindemith - 20th century and modern in style I love these too!

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't know what she has though, so I might see whether Justflutes do vouchers so she could get what she wanted!
