Hi which is your favroute organ piece?
noodle
I like both Widor's Toccata and the Saint Saens. I preferred Toccata - until I had to play it at a wedding a few years ago!
maggiemay
none of the above - although I like all of them.

Almost anything by Bach
Saint-Saens Fantasie in Eb
Gigout Scherzo in E
Mulet Tu es Petra
Dupre Prelude and fugue in B

Maggie
neil.clarinet
I did the Saint Saens Symphony in the university orchestra two years ago and it sounded superb. The last movement is one of my favourites of all time, but there is also a nice slow movement with the organ. I like the Bach as well.

We did the Saens-Saint in one of the orchestras I was in in 5th year or 6th form... I don't remember it except that I think I quite liked it...

Ditto

I'm currently enjoying Tournemire's liturgical cycles, and everything by Franck, plus I've a really soft spot for Percy Whitlock's Sonata in C minor!

I like the Trois Paraphrase Gregorians by Langlais and L'Appartition de L'Eglise Eternalle by Messiaen.

Erm... sometime last summer I was trying to get enough people to lobby for an Organ forum but the Organists among us were a little reticent in taking up my suggestion.

Dare I repeat my call? Gee I don't know...

perhaps if we contact the moderator we can get something done.
regrettably i deleted her(?) mail where she said there are 22 forums which are a handful for her(?) team - my suggestion was to rename the forum Viva Keyboards - or some such - which would embrace all of us sedentary instrumentalists.
