Went to see it on Thursday at 12:20, was amazing! biggrin.gif

The music was really good, (I'm a big fan of John Williams), I found that especially in this movie the music was more essential to getting the right feeling in the audience, at some parts it got everyone really excited etc. and others it made us want to cry!

What is everone else's opinions on the music of Episode III, (and the rest of the Star Wars movies?)

Hulk.

(p.s sorry about the lack of Caps Lock on the two I's in the title! laugh.gif )

I haven't seen the other episodes but episode III was very good. The music suited the film very well.

Not seen it yet... planning to sometime but I suppose it is one of those films you need to take ear protection for...?

I really do not like the soundtracks you can feel rather than hear!

I saw it on Friday, I really really loved it. The music is great..... can feel it in your seat... although I was worried that the bass wasn't working at first in the cinema... but thankfully it was working very well!!!!

Epsiode 4 came out as MGM, or who ever George Lucas went to to ask/show the 9 story boards to, were unsure that Star Wars would be as great at they are, and did not want to risk the money on a 'nobody', as George Lucas was when he presented the story boards. In the result of this Espsode 4 work out to be the cheapest of the 9 to make, and so they split it in to three groups, 1-3, 4-6 and 7-9. Four was made and if that was a 'hit' then 5 and 6 would be made, this happened!! If that trilogy was a sucess, happened again, then when funds were present, and technology made it possibe, another reason why 4 was made first as it could be made with the technology that was available at the time of production, then 1-3 would be made. Which has come true as well!! As far as I know that is the story. But I may be wrong!! It does, however, make sense coz as you watch 1-3 and 4-6 you can see that not as much technology was needed to 4-6, as it is mainly set in space, and 1-3 involves a lot of 'planned hopping'. Hope this is correct, as it is what I was told when i asked the question!

I haven't seen Episode 3 but was very disappointed with 1 and 2. I loved the original trilogy, though - the writing and acting were far superior and they had an element of mysticism that's sadly lacking in the newer films. I suppose the special effects of the originals might seem rather primitive now, though.

The originals are still very good, but I thought it was so..smart of George Lucas to wait 20 years until digital technology had evolved, in my opinion, Episode III is the best of the new films, but the best overall has to be Return of the Jedi!

If you buy the soundtrack you get the free DVD "Star Wars: A Musical Journey" which is a 70 minute CD containing 16, I think, music videos from the Star Wars movies i.e. the particular highlights of the music from the movies have been digitally re-mastered in Dolby surround and contain images from all the films. I am currently listening to the soundtrack and enjoying what I have heard so far. We had a discussion on film music where we discussed Star Wars also Here

P.S. Has orchestral film music such as "Star Wars" become the popular Classical Music of the 20/21 st Century? smile.gif

I went to see it on friday. At first they put the film thingy in bacjwards and it kept on played with really wierd and loud noises for about 5 minutes until they changed it around! Anyway I thought the music was great.
