ok...I'm pretty desperate at this point. I'm about to take my level 7 and 8 exams, and I only have 1 full day left to prepare. My scales, and pieces are ready, my sightreading...well, it's as ready as it can be, but the Aural training part is just a mess. I've always had really good ear, but I'm just confused. I can practice really hard on A,B,and C, and probably manage ok...but I don't even know what to do to prepare for D, and my teacher basically laft it up to me...so I guess my question is, "What's the best thing I can do with my 1 full day (and yes I can practice the entire day) to help me feel a little better about section D.
Thanks a lot!

That's the section where the examiner plays a section of a piece and you have to answer questions on it relating to form, style, dynamics, articulation, period / composer etc, isn't it?

Here are a few suggestions of how you can spend your last day before the exam!

1. Have a listen to a classical music radio station and try and guess the period / composer (and try and decide what characteristics it possesses that makes you arrive at your decision). You can also try to analyse the other points as above. See how your answers compare to that of the presenter at the end!

2. Revise all the musical terms in the different languages.

3. Relax - the marks for this section of the aural test only make up a tiny percentage of the whole mark for the exam!

Good luck. You'll be fine.
