it depends what you mean by a cheap bass trombone... if you want a new one you will still pay up to a grand even for a crappy one.....

why dont you do a rent to buy or something like that?
It would be best to go into the shop and have a go on some tho rather than buying over the internet... then you can see what they have in second hand too..

it would need to be a specialist shop as most bass trombone players love their instrument and will not part with it!
