Hi all,

I'm searching for the title of a movie for a while now, and though I could try my luck here .

The movie is about a girl who runs away from home or something and meets another girl in a very poor family. (The first asks if she can phone her parents, but they hesitate because it is very expensive.) The first girl finds out that the poor girl can play the violin (or viola ) beautifully, and they play together (the first girl plays the piano). She persuades the poor girl to play in a contest. They both play at the contest. The girl with the violin wins the contest and gets an comment from the jury that is was the most mature performance they had ever heard by a girl that age. The piano girl seems upset at first but than she realizes that is is very important to this girl and is happy for her.

I know this description is a bit vague but I hope someone can me a possible title.

Seems like an outside chance, I've never seen anything like that myself, does it have violin in the title? If so try a look through here to see if anything looks right.

I know there isn't much change I will find it, but i thought is was worth to try. There just might be someone that saw it, and knows the title. Thanks for the link by the way. I dind't find this movie in it, but it will be usefull to find others.

IMDB is cool, and allows you to do searches by keywords within a film's plot synopsis. I had a quick go with violin, young girl violin ec. but with no success. Perhaps if you have more patience than I you might be able to tease the answer out of their excellent search engine.

Either that, or you dreamt the whole thing...
