He just getting too nervous to play the clarinet, and he use mine, mine clarinet is a very 'weird' one, which is hard to use. His basics are so bad, he won't listen to me. Give me some help. I would advise them to get their own clarinet, even if it's a second hand one, just so that there is one for them to get used to and practise on.

Well, I will told him about that, but you know that buying a clarinet isn't that easy, espesially in Malaysia.

Sorry, I didn't realise that you were in Malaysia. Is your student a complete beginner or has he had lessons with a different teacher in the past?

It is very difficult to teach anyone using your own instrument. First because the pupil can never practise unless they take your instrument away and, secondly because you will be anxious about your instrument whilst it's in his hands and that anxiety will be shown to your pupil.

You managed to get a clarinet - can you use the same route for your new pupil? Is it possible to buy over the internet from another country? (I don't know but it might be worth exploring.)

I strongly advise trying hard to find him an instrument but you need to make it clear too that you are teaching him and if he wants to learn and make progress he needs to listen to your advice. If he doesn't want to do that, I should stop working with him as you're on a difficult route from the start.

Good luck

Thanks for your advice, I managed to get him a clarinet it cost about RM2500, about 310pounds. Its a student model, well I'm calling him to quit if he don't listen to my advice.
