One ,after making sure everyone else had a poppy, I couldn't go out and get one.
Two, I had a small fit towards the end of the anthem and Couldn't stand to sing the National Anthem.
I did get to the War Memorial for the 2 minutes silence.

I agree with Rosemary, Jo. You're still recovering and the fact that you even managed to go should say something about your dedication. Try not to worry about it if you can.

Its not likely to make the front page of next week's Church Times really.
Probably the effect that Chippenham did have "Oh Valiant Hearts" - I really hate the sentiment of that hymn its bad theology. It's fine to die for one's country, I can accept that, but then to put it on the same level as Christ's sacrifice on the cross is plain wrong. I found it hard to get through the words. Left a nasty taste in my mouth.
MrB still hasn't let us know how that civil ceremony went yesterday. I'm intrigued.
I'm feeling very tired, and will probably return to my bed very soon.

Maybe it is wrong in your eyes Jod, and maybe it isnt in other peoples. I think what you have written, while it may be your view, is a bit unfair, especially to say it left a nasty taste in your mouth!!
