On a completely unrelated note...

On September the 23rd, I predicted that in 52 days, CISD would pass one million views, based on a set of averages. This event occured today, 47 days after the prediction, meaning that I was 5 days late in my prediction. I won't be an astrologer when I grow up! This suggests that on average there are now more posts going off in CISD than there used to be, which implies that it is getting more popular over time... See, even wrong maths is interesting!

It isn't wrong maths though, is it? The trends just changed - you can explore how quickly these rates will change using calculus etc.

Actually, I was thinking of getting some sort of moving average over the last few years, and seeing what trend that has, so suggest a month in which we might have two million views! That would be fun...

I think you will find there was a high degree of heated activity in CISD today.... that would have affected your prediction considerably - probably expanded posts!
I think your forecast can be considered as accurate rolleyes.gif

77 days is even wronger than 52!

But believe me, I check my numbers over... I don't like to get them wrong! I'm certain it was 52 in the end.

Also, large post numbers didn't really affect the huge averages I was dealing with by such a great amount. I think it would take a few hyperactive days before it shifted from my predictions.

I gave up maths at school as soon as I could. I did GCSE a year early, but couldn't get my head round A level maths at all...

Mr LT and his brother were heavy into maths (and physics) as kids from the sound of it. Amazingly, and I guess this is connected, they could play chess in their heads whilst lying in bed at night - until one of them declared the move 'illegal' laugh.gif

It seems like all professional musicians have two special things - superior musical talent (obviously) and a magic ability to "do their thing" no matter what's happenning.
To a not-so-musical tiger cub who can't stifle a measly little cough, it looks pretty impressive.

OK so over the last six weeks I refused to stop teaching unless forcibly made to, and with exception of visititing a friend for lunch I've always made church. I'm nor superwoman far from it! I'm a creaky middle-aged housewife/musician/mum who sort of gets by somehow.

Just remember Superwoman ended in the priory for 6 months after a nervous breakdown.

I only did those things to suppress boredom and to give me something to live for apart from my boys and my husband. I've done precious little practice, and as for research... what research?

Not so musical little tiger cub ....Pah! I don't believe that for one minute! Stifle a little cough... why didn't you tell me you were on amoxycillin for a chest infection: rather ups the anti. Super-tiger more likes, and from what I can tell a rather musical one.

Now you need to get yourself better for your Organ Exam so here's a bowl of chicken soup, in a stainless steel flask so it won't get cold, now tuck yourself back underneath that duvet and get well.

Quite a lot of stuff Teigr! I've left a post in the RNCM sax day thread about it, but I played in an awful lot of different ensembles, including a 200-ish-strong sax choir, and a rather impressive jazzy session which went by the name of 'Sax Assault'. Brilliant. I've got to go out for an appointment at 12.15, but I daren't mention what it's for incase I'm "caroled".

Then as long as I've got back-up I'm actually picking my own kids from school for the first time in a while. And the insurance company have said I can definately fo to Spain this weekend.

+ I cooked dinner, a proper meal, yesterday, and am doing so today, and tommorrow too. Now for some people that wouldn't be unusual, but for me this is real progress. I'm reclaiming the Kitchen as my own!
