The sniffles have turned into a full blown cold, but I sem to have that under control. I'm taking things easy today deliberately. My throat is feeling better that it did over the last few days. I've just got a rather red nose!
My Uncle is still alive. Things are rather up and down. I think that handing over the paperwork to do with his dad to my stepfather has got him down a bit, but it's going to mean less responsibility, and make it more straightforward when the inivitable happens.
Cancer! Having someone you love ill with it is not easy. In my uncle's case we know it's terminal. I hope the news with John is more positive. However having seen his positive state of mind as he's faced everything has just reinforced what a wonderful person he is.

Absolutely fine. Parallel parking is still a bit rusty, and in my absolutely no power-assisted steering car an interesting concept, but everything else no problem.
My night driving is absolutely fine. Dual carriageways don't bother me. I'n fact apart apart from the small issue of parallel parking, if anything its slightly better than before as I'm less complacent. I think the most important thing is I never lost my nerve.

Well it didn't and as a result, I beg you to get a recital booked on one of the magnificent organs in my vicinity.
For goodness sake. Peterborough is an hours drive. Ely takes half an hour and as for Cambridge... well which organ do you want to choose! I'm sure as Organ Scholar at Ripon and Scholar Elect at "The Other Place" you could get yourself a booking" around here with no trouble at all.
For some of us Ripon is a little too far for a day trip!

I can tell you Ripon is a nice place to visit. I may have mentioned before that I lived there for a few years, nad my duaghter was baptised in the catherdral. So never you mind trying to get Thea down south, you make the effort to come up north !

Let me think... would love to. I love Ripon too. 3rd July is a Thursday. I need to be back in Burwell for 3.15 to collect children from school having dropped them off at 9am. Well, unless there is some kind forumite who can take me in his or her private plane from Cambridge Airport to the nearest Airfield to Ripon... I don't think I'm going to make it.
28th February. Kids in afterschool club so I have to be back for 6pm. I finish teaching the night before at 8.30, and I suppose I could get the neighbours to take the kids to school, but I've still got to get back, find a travel inn or equivalent to stay in on the way up.
Doncaster has a nice parish church with a good organ and is easier to get to by rail. Practically every train off Peterborough going north stops there.
f#minor I'm not being apathetic, but I've got two children under the age of ten who need their mum, and the only reason we've got an extra day for them in after-school club this term on top of my teaching requirements was because I was ill last term. From next term I'm back on mum duty. It's already claimed two forums events as it is.

Grr! I have two music essays to write for tomorrow! One was due in last week and I didn't have the essay question so i kind of did the best I could...but I got asked to do it again and forgot to get the essay question! And this other essay I can't do as I don;t know how to talk about the instrumentation and how it's effective
