Weeeell... my sister text the info line, saying about how Birmingham would be over run by girl guides for the Big Gig (the annual pop concert run by GirlGuiding UK) and the phone rang while she was driving, so I answered it and he was like "this is Phil Upton from BRMB, who am I speaking to?" So after recovering from the shock, I told him, and told him a bit about the Big Gig, he said "Tell you what Helen, how would you like ot come on the air in a few minutes and tell the nation about it?" So I did.

I'm up, but am about to go out and see if any of my choir have turned up this morning. Nearly all of them seem to be away for half-term.
I'll grab a quick earl Grey and some more of the sultana version of the cake before I go. Yum.
Dusty (our cat) has had a small amount of chicken and some water this morning, so she's still hanging in there.

It's wet, windy and miserable today. Is the cake ok? Thought I'd make a variety for the non-raisin fans. Luv cinnamon!
Another slice anyone? (cuts remaing cakes and passes round)
Does'nt look as though I'll get any (house) painting done today!!
'scuse while I go and check on the REAL raisin cake

Do you have a recipe for this?
Sure - it's very adaptable to all sorts of raisin-free variations - pear and vanilla is equally scrummy! also apricot and almond. The recipe is from Holland. "Eet smakelijk ! " (bon appetit).......as they say.
Bear with me. I have to go and take some shopping round for aged parents. Mum is 88 and Dad 94 - mobility is a problem, but thank God they still have their marbles....... and everyone elses' too.
I'll post the recipe soon.
