Hi Dawn/Barry
I have just eaten in a pub called the Stansfield Arms instead of the Chevin Hotel where I stay regularly.
I ordered a lamb shank, fine in itself but the gravy , mash and red cabbage that came with it were ridiculouly salty, and I suspect the gravy well dosed with monosodium glutamate.
Since condiments are usually provided, why do so many modern chefs ruin their creations with too much salt, why not let people put their own salt on. Even many fast food places liberally scatter their chips with salt, its so unneccessary , and is not good for you !

I will post a review on
http://www.qype.co.uk as I do with all restaurants and hotels I visit.
