Does anyone else feel this 'politically correct' birthday wishing is going a little too far? Generally I can accept that leaving someone who is here out could be upsetting, but in life one generally only wishes people one knows happy birthday, and if someone else comes and says it's their birthday one wishes that person happy birthday too. In this case version-3-point-1 came to the forum on one day 30th September 2004 - 05:37 PM and has not been back since! It's unlikely that they're going to come back today or that anyone here wishing them happy birthday knows who they are .
Wishing a happy birthday to everyone regardless of whether one has any idea who they are or if they're here seems to make the greeting a little insincere.

Came back early from school because I had a free.
I had my music assessment today. I got 20/25:
9/15 for accuracy - "Mainly accurate work despite the occasional small slip, tiny hesitation or out-of-tune note."
8/10 for interpretation - "Very good control and variety. Detailed playing throughout, and some sense of style. Good tone."
I was pleased because she said my tone was excellent rather than good but I didn't have thorough interpretation or something!
However, because my piece was Grade 7 standard it got rounded up to 20

Erm - well I think I got a lot of marks for my tone, and also use of dynamics.

As for the Da Vinci code, make sure you find a picture of Da Vinci drawing John the Baptist (I think that's right) and you'll see he looks very much like the woman claimed to be there at the table in the picture of "The Last Supper". I read this in a book that this is just the way Da Vinci draws him, and so the idea that the character at the table is a woman may be wrong.

Tom Lehrer had six fingers on each hand, and played the piano; he wasn't a classical virtuoso, but seemed to manage OK.
