There's a full in-depth analysis of my, mrbouffant's, YAP's and AP's thoughts in the "challenge" thread.
Carol, perhaps I should warn you before you toddle off to read all about it. mrbouffant tells of how he pulled a twenty-something Irish babe before the exam. Sorry you had to find out like this. What are we going to do with him?
Thanks Deborah - already seen that!
I think a lot of it occurs in MrB's fantasy world!

Do something to him with his Clarinet - (consult my "little black book of punishments") - for which you charge extra of course!!!

I think at the moment my need is greater than J's. Better leave at least one bottle in the fridge for the other challengees though.

From what I've heard of your fantasy world, perhaps I'm safer on this side of the rainbow bridge

diapason, would you mind pouring more of J's Bucks Fizz for mrbouffant?

Not sure I'm entirely convinced about diapason's assessment of camp being this season's way to walk, but I'm glad to hear your foot's on the mend.

Well, mine doesn't include twenty-something leggy blondes, which I hope gives you a few clues as to why yours seems a little strange to me. As long as you're happy to leave me to my fantasies, I'll leave you to yours.
Good use of "mistress D" by the way. Perhaps you should incorporate it into your signature

More a case of neccessity - trying to keep upright on a frosty pavement without losing decorum - especially with a case of Bucks Fizz inside one
Deborah, do tell me about the CD project. I want to hear more. Not that I've got the money around at the moment, but this is a medium term project at present. Probably English song.
Deborah
Mar 2 2006, 10:23 AM
The CD recording is something that our local choral society are doing. It's costing us about £5K, but that includes venue hire, paying a soloist, conductor, ensemble and recording company for a weekend's session, and an initial production run of 500 copies. Obviously if you were doing it for yourself there are areas where you could reduce costs; for a start, you and a pianist wouldn't need to pay extra for soloists, conductor or ensemble.
It's a disc comprising mainly choral lollipops, but there's also - wait for it - the world premiere recording of a work we've commissioned from Bob Chilcott.
I'd tell you that the finished product will be available in September, priced £10 and available from all heldenklarinettistins, but wouldn't want to risk breaking the "no advertising" rule

mrbouffant - love the new signature!

Oh dear!
No, you must go cold turkey and forsake any theory papers. Be strong!!
(I typoed that as "be string".....
)
Deborah
Mar 2 2006, 12:27 PM
Theory cold turkey? Does that involve locking away all of your pencils and burning some manuscript paper?
Must say I like the idea of continuing the tradition of a 19-year gap between theory exams.

The TMA is clearly on drugs.
Deborah
Mar 2 2006, 12:35 PM
Better pass it to nicki_flute then

Let me rephrase the question - what's the subject of your TMA?
mrbouffant
Mar 2 2006, 12:42 PM
Am I allowed to tell you? What if you start the MA next year, you'll have a head start won't you?
Deborah
Mar 2 2006, 12:51 PM
No more than any of the undergraduates in the year below me when I did my first degree.
Doing the OU MA myself is still only at the "maybe" stage. It's tempting to delay it until I'm within touching distance of being Deborah FRSM BA(Hons) HonFBCM, i.e. until I can skip one module and the corresponding essays, but I suspect I'll dither about getting there as well.

How was the exam?
Deborah
Mar 2 2006, 01:25 PM
You mean you've not ploughed through the challenge thread? I liked the Wagner question, mrbouffant liked the blonde who was doing an exam at the same time, otherwise it was all a bit smelly.
